Founded in 1995


In Menlo Park California, Clutch Communication, founded as ID Advertising, was created after the founder achieved national sales honors and was asked by his largest clients to handle their advertising.
Initially focused on print advertising and graphic design, the firm started programming websites with help of Stanford students that same year. Clutch was one of the first firms to ever put pictures on websites and has continued to grow its digital expertise ever since.

For the last 26 years the firm endured a move to Scottsdale Arizona and a name change to Clutch Communications. Along the way, the founder Dean Henthorn took on management roles (as a consultant) with an industry leading action sports shoe company, created and produced a TV show that aired FOX Sports (the highest rated independent program at the time) and took over the social media role for the largest off-road race series – all with resounding success. Leveraging years of media expertise, visual creativeness and sales process knowledge Clutch Communications has evolved into a strategic and creative partner with B2C and B2B clients nationally and internationally. While clients often move from agency to agency or bring things in-house, Clutch Communications has client relationships for over 20 years.
